Simmano Health Care Center

In early 2002, the Lao Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc. developed plans for the construction of a new health care facility to replace an old inadequate dispensary. In cooperation with Standard Chartered Bank (Thai IT Division), we installed a computer classroom at the Department of Health in April 2007 to provide computer skills to the medical staff. The proposed plans for the new school

School Renovations

Committed to help with education in remote areas, the Lao Rehabilitation Foundation is presently considering to build new schools in cooperation with local communities of Northern Laos in villages where the foundation provides health care. Plans for the elementary schools are designed to house about 300 students and would be outfitted with locally built furniture.

National Rehabilitation Center

In cooperation with the Lao Ministry of Education, the center opened its doors to children with impairments in 1992. It is the only school in Laos offering special education to children (amputees, movement-impaired, deaf, mute and visually impaired persons). The maximum capacity of the school is presently 75 children with many children on a waiting list.
