This is the first time a mobile health care team visited SaenJod Health Center in Oudomxay province. The team was entirely staffed by Lao physicians and nurses from Oudomxay Provincial Hospital.

SaenJod is one of 8 health care centers of Nga district in Oudomxay province. The population is 4,095. The village is located at a distance of 42 km from Nga city by difficult dirt road. The center is staffed by 3 nurses. Their main activity is to provide disease prevention services and health education including vaccine injections, distribution of vitamin A and parasite medication. They provide basic treatment and refer difficult cases to the provincial hospital.
