In 2003, the Lao Rehabilitation Foundation replaced the old roof and provided electric power to the Simmano High School. In addition, 32 fans were installed in 16 classrooms.

In 2003, the Lao Rehabilitation Foundation developed plans for the construction of an additional classroom for the Simmano elementary school. Included in this project, a well, water storage and a toilet with septic system were installed. The new facility which now can adequately serve the needs of 80 children was handed-over to the villagers in June 2004.

In 2004, the first computer system was installed at Simmano High School, allowing teachers to prepare hand-outs for students, as few books are available.
