Mokchak village accessible only by four wheel drive is located 24 Km outside of Houn, in Houn District in Oudomxay province, Lao PDR. The village is home to 507 Khamou ethnic people (F 236). It houses 102 families in 82 houses. There are a few septic systems in place, usually shared by 3 or 4 families, which were found to be unusable due to the fact that was no water available nearby. There is no electricity in the village. There is an elementary school with 103 students, which also has a septic system installed near the school, which had no access to water.
In February 2012 the LRF completed the project bringing clean water to the Mokchak village.
