JANUARY 2020 – HOUN EYE CARE CLINIC – OUDOMXAY PROVINCE
This mission was a partnership between the Eye Care Unit of Oudomxay Provincial Hospital and Lao Rehabilitation Foundation (LRF) in association with SEE International to provide health care for cataract surgery, short optometry training and screening vision for student at school for 10 days, January 27 to February 08, 2020. November 2019 – Mobile Eye Care
On the 2nd week of October 2019 the Eye Unit of Oudomxay provincial hospital in cooperation with the Lao Rehabilitation Foundation (LRF) offered mobile eye care service in 3 districts (Beng, Houn and Xai) of Oudomxay, providing eye exams, refraction testing, dispensing eyeglasses, performing eye surgery when needed and donating medical equipment to Km 32 Health Center. June 2018 – Oculoplastic and Cataract Surgery
This mission was the fourth oculoplastic surgery mission in Laos, this time held at Mahosot and 113 Hospitals in Vientiane. It was also the second cataract surgery mission in the northern provinces. The mission was funded by doctors from Bumrungrad Hospitals of Thailand and SEE International of California in association with Lao Rehabilitation Foundation from USA. January 2017 – Oculoplastic Surgery
This mission was the third oculoplastic surgery and DCR mission at Oudomxay Provincial Hospital and the first time dacryocustorhinostomy was performed by Endo DCR in Laos. The mission was funded by generous doctors from Bumrungrad, Mettapracharak, Nakhornrajsema, Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rutnin Eye Hospitals of Thailand in association with Lao Rehabilitation Foundation from USA. September 2016 – Cataract Surgery by Phaco
The primary focus for this mission was the training of two local ophthalmologists to perform cataract surgery by phacoemulsification technique on a machine donated by Lao Rehabilitation Foundation. During this mission, 274 patients were examined and surgery performed on by phacoemulsification on 44 patients. Click here to download the report

Hadset is a small Akha village of Bountai district, Phongsaly province, Lao PDR. It is located in Bountai district at a distance of 24 km of dirt road from the district center. The access is difficult. For many years, the village of 71 families living in 51 houses did not have clean water access, no toilet, and not much hope for a better future. This is the first time a mobile health care team visited BanKhon and Nahom Health Centers in Beng District, Oudomxay province. Health care in Beng District is provided by 6 health centers covering 57 villages. Ban Khon health center covers 9 villages (Thaidam and Khamou) with a catchment population of 4,612.
